Cirkus2021: Plan 47 (b)?

How much do we plan?, what if it doesn’t go to plan? Where do complicated messy humans fit into a plan anyway?

This show was originally conceived as a devised work to be created by over a dozen final-year students and to be performed in mid-late 2020. Instead we spent most of the year confined to our living rooms in Zoom-world. By the time 2021 was underway the entire 3rd-year were invited to repeat their final year, the cohort had reduced to seven, planned schedules had been endlessly re-written and re-written again, marinated in hand sanitiser, with Covid contingency plans and restriction fall-back plans, and all fed back through a Zoom pro-plan,... Thus Plan 47(b)

Cirkus 2021: Plan 47(b)?, co-directed by Mike Finch (Artistic Director, Circus Oz 1997-2015) and NICA’s own Stephen Burton, is a collaboration with Screen and Media (Animation) students and staff at Swinburne University of Technology.
