The best way to test the circus-waters is to dip your toe in. 

Our Come & Try Circus Days happen four times a year prior to each new term starting and offer you the opportunity to try circus with no strings attached.

Dare yourself to act on your circus dreams and try one of NICA Rec’s offerings designed for total beginners. Circus is an engaging way to work on your fitness and these programs are suitable for all ages and fitness levels – have a go on your own or grab a friend to share the fun!  

Try a single one-hour session or maybe a selection from the range of skills/apparatus we offer! You’ll get a taster of our regular term classes, meet our NICA Rec trainers and have a chance to ask questions about our class options.

Our Come and Try Circus Days showcases select NICA Rec term classes for kids, teens and adults. For those who are ages 16+, Our Come and Try Circus Day classes have previously included: Aerial Hoop, Straps, Acrobatic Pole, Juggling & Manipulation, Tissu, Tumbling, Static Trapeze, Handstands, Trampoline, Rolla Bolla, Hoop Diving and Tightwire!

Please wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in! We suggest tracksuit pants, short or leggings with a close-fitting T-Shirt or singlet and a jumper or jacket for between activities. Long hair must be tied back, and we ask for all jewellery to be removed. Bring a water bottle – no glass please! 

Special requirements: 

  • Acrobatic Pole – Please wear jeans, long sleeves and flat soled shoes. 

  • Aerial sessions (trapeze, tissu, rope, straps, aerial hoop) - Please wear full length leggings.

NICA is located at 39-59 Green Street (Corner Green & Thomas Street Prahran VIC 3181)­. Please note that both streets are one-way. 

You can enter NICA via the main glass foyer off the forecourt on Green Street, about half-way down the building.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds of discounts for missed sessions due to change of mind or availability.

Participants needing to withdraw due to an injury or illness will be asked to provide a copy of their medical certificate to receive a refund for the full number of unused sessions.

The roads around NICA have limited 1, 2 and 3 hour street parking. The nearest metered car park is on Union Street (131 - 133 Union Street, Windsor) and opposite the Windsor station on Chapel Street. The Prahran Square carpark is open 24 hours 30-40 Izett Street, Prahran.

Yes! From Flinders Street Station take the Sandringham Line train to Windsor or Prahran Station. Tram Routes 78, 6 or 72 all have stops close to NICA. Tram Routes 5 and 64 run along Dandenong Road – A short walk from NICA. Visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au for timetable information.
