Hazel

This is one girl with a set of very clever toes. Unbelievable and unmissable. Born for a life onstage, Hazel thrives on making audiences smile and gasp with her impressive skills in the art of object manipulation, specialising in Foot Juggling. Like a beam of human sunlight, Hazel has lit up stages of countless festivals, theatre shows and corporate events, both nationally and around the globe. 

She has worked with some of Australia’s leading circus companies including four years touring with the internationally acclaimed Circus Oz, many tours with Circus Quirkus and is frequently invited to guest spot with Circus Monoxide, CIRCA and Robinson's Family Circus. Today, Hazel continues to perform with GOP on the German Variety Circuit, and travels as often as possible for other opportunities both within Australia and throughout Europe. 

Hazel is a tried-and-true industry nomad, with almost 20 years as a touring freelance performance artist under her sparkly belt, since graduating from Melbourne’s National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) in 2003.

More than just a performer, she created and launched her own company, Circus Catharsis, with acrobat Avan Whaite, devising and performing three original shows: The Frog Prince, Evermind, and The Diary of Alexander Fleming, designed to creatively explore and experiment with the narrative and theatrical possibilities of circus. In 2017 Hazel developed her own full-length solo show Hazels Circus Suitcase, which successfully toured the festival and fringe circuits around Australia. In 2020, she received the gold medal from the International Juggling Association for her unique foot juggling act.
